My favorite Indian food takeout spot. Their naan and basmati rice are fluffy. Their chicken tikka masala is creamy. No complaints.

I was lucky enough to have lunch here with a friend the other day and I totally forgot about the lunch buffet special and how there's less of a crowd! Y'all already know I tore the buffet up lol sometimes they don't have samosas but today they sure did! The samosas here are one of my favorite things alongside the mint chutney to dip into it. The chicken tikka masala was amazing today and I noticed they sprinkled the cilantro on a bunch of the buffet items, which gave so much of a heightened flavor profile to everything. I love the chill, quiet ambience during lunch and still managed to finish a good two-place worth of food. If you can make it the lunch and catch that buffet pricing, definitely do!

Our office had a hankering for Indian food and our co-worker from India recommended New Delhi since it has been one of his favorites for awhile. We found parking in a lot right beside the building. The staff was friendly and patient with my questions. I appreciated that they had spice levels since we had a mix of people wanting their food mild and spicy. The buffet looked appealing and the seating areas were clean. The inside was nice and pretty big. I imagine they are packed during busier times. We were taking our order to go, but the buffet looks like a good time. We ordered Veggie Samosas, Paneer Makhni - cheese cubes cooked in a tomato sauce with butter [gluten-free], mild and spicy Butter Chicken (Makhni) tender pieces of chicken tandoori cooked in a fresh tomato sauce with butter [gluten-free] and Chicken Tandoori half chicken marinated in yogurt and herbs, then barbecued [gluten-free]. Some plain naan and for dessert Gulab Jamun home-made milk-balls dipped in honey syrup. I really enjoyed the flavors of the spicy Chicken Makhni. The meat was tender and the tomato sauce had a range of spices that made it hard to say when! The chicken tandoori had nice flavors too, but the meat was a tad dry. The Paneer was good, but the star of the show was the Chicken Makhni. Throw some rice and mint chutney in with the chicken makhni and naan .... Happiness .... I would love to return to try a Biryani. The Gulab Jamun was a miss. It lacked the syrup flavor I'm used to. The pricing was around $33 per person for what we ordered. There were leftovers. I would recommend ordering ahead as the wait time was a bit long. Everyone was stuffed and happy that we tried New Delhi. I'd repeat more often if I lived in the area.

On a recent trip to Philly I paid a visit to the New Delhi Indian Restaurant for they were featured as having the number 2 Indian buffet in America in a recent article in 2023 by Far and Wide. I had great expectations and luckily they delievered! This year I had the number four Indian buffet in Phoenix called India Palace which was good yet far to access being car-free since the Lyft there and back from my homestay in Phoenix was more than the buffet, In San Francisco aka my current home I went this year to Amber's India buffet in downtown San Francisco. They were solid for what vegan options they had yet far too many of their offerings contained dairy or were non-veg which was a bummer since I am a longtime vegan of 25 years. Service was on point and straight forward for a buffet. Ambiance was chill and was an Indian Buffet with some Indian deities along with a nice vibe. So at the New Delhi Restaurant in Philly I was delighted that there were several clearly marked vegan options on the buffet with the exception of one paneer dish aka dairy, naan which contained dairy, and some non-veg mains. The clearly named vegan offerings they had were: Aloo Rajmah curry- kidney beans and potatoes cooked in a mild spiced sauce. I found this solid yet was very liquidy. It could have used more kidney beans and potatoes as was a curry that was a bit soup like. Masala fries- hot and crisp fries seasoned with Indian spices. These were tasty yet could have been hotter. I arrived at 1pm and buffet started at 11:30am so perhaps this is why. Basmati rice- lightly seasoned Indian rice. Simple rice that paired nice with the vegan entrees. Chana Masala- classic chickpea dish with herbs and spices in a medium sauce. These were great. Good flavor and just enough heat yet not overbearing. Vegetable Samosa- these were tasty and enjoyed two of them Aloo Gobi Mutter- Cauliflower and potatoes cooked with peas and fresh Indian spices. These were solid. The vegan entrees I had were paired with three kind of tasty chutneys on the buffet. All in all a solid Indian buffet that I recommend is head and shoulders above other of the best Indian buffets in America for aforementioned reasons. Check them out!

Probably one of the better Indian buffets within a 100 mile radius. The restaurant is very clean, the bathroom is well scrubbed and there is no smell. I was greeted by a friendly guy upon entering and quickly seated. The food is hot and fragrant, they did not skimp out on the spices while still not too spicy. Buffet foods are fresh and they top it off when it runs low. A few of the signs are incorrect, ie: they noted a goat dish but there was no goat at all. Clientele consists mostly of college students.

Gotta love a good Indian buffet. While this might not be the best Indian buffet I've ever had, it is hands down the best one in Philadelphia city. We were immediately seated. They asked immediately for our drink orders which I didn't really like. I wish they would have come back to us after we had settled down. We ended up getting a mango lassi which was pretty good. Afterward, we hit the amazing Indian bar. There were a ton of salad options with this amazing onion chutney. The place has Americanized Indian food as well such as masala fries and an Indian style fried chicken. The Indian food was pretty good as well (except the Chana masala was too sweet). There was mutter paneer with small pieces of paneer, chicken curry, naan, chicken biriyani, and chicken tandoori. The desserts were pretty good. There was an amazing gulab jamun. The kheer (rice pudding) and chocolate pudding were ok (not really worth the calories). The decoration was interesting. There was not a ton of Indian pictures around the restaurant like most Indian restaurants. The bathroom was down a really long hallway that was surrounded by metal. The bathroom did have COVID friendly door handles (never used my wrist before). The only weird thing is someone doesn't come to pick up the dirty plates when you go up to pick up a new plate. They have a place for you to place the plates at.

New Delhi is basically the only Indian buffet in town. I stopped by on a whim and am so glad that I did! During a weekday lunch it was fairly quiet (I was dining alone). Extremely attentive staff were continuously make sure I didn't need anything and brought me my check when I asked without ever feeling pushy. I was really impressed by the variety of the buffet. They have samosas on the buffet!! The value is incredible just for that alone, in my opinion. They also have all the classic dishes, and some pretty bangin' curry French fries! I particularly liked the goat curry and the chicken tika masala. Such a great time and it's lovely to be able to get all the sides (raita, naan, chutneys) and such a variety for an affordable price. They have a cash discount and an additional discount if you sign up for their email newsletter. Definitely make sure to take advantage of both! They also have student discounts.

Found this little spot just walking around Philly and decided to pop in for a quick lunch with my friend. The place is very clean and has a lot of chairs, we came around 12:30 pm so it was not super crowded. They had a lunch special going on for the buffet I believe it was about $15 so pretty solid price considering its AYCE. The food selection is not super big, just about 4-5 main dishes, rices, naan, and sauces, but it's all the staple indian food so if you're looking for an inexpensive indian buffet that has all the essentials I would definitely recommend this spot. The service was very quick with getting us water and we just got up to pay at the counter when we finished.
